To find the MAC address for the Computer you are installing
GiServer on:
- Windows:
- Click "start" - "run" and
type: winipcfg and click "ok"
Enter the number set listed as "physical address" into
the appropriate box.
- OR if the above does not work as in the case of Windows
NT and XP, launch a DOS command prompt and
then type: ipconfig /all and hit the Enter key.
Enter the number set listed as "Adapter Address" into the appropriate
box.
- Unix / Linux
- From a login prompt - type: ifconfig -a and
hit the Enter key
Enter the number set listed as "ether" into the appropriate
box. (Unix OS)
OR Enter the number set listed as "HWaddr" into the
appropriate box. (Linux OS)
To obtain the PC name and Hard Drive Serial number for
filePro GI Developer Tool Kit licensing - click on "getvolumeserialnumber.exe" from
within your ~\fpgidev directory.
